And another week flies by.....
Friday BK went to work in SD. Once home we threw a bunch of stuff into the truck and set out for the AV.
We had our In N Out dinner to go. Just up the freeway BK turned off and we trekked back to where the old Elsinore Raceway used to be, or so we think. We could only go so far so we parked and ate our meal while looking at the terrain there. A couple of dogs came barking up to us, but a few INO french fries and they were our friends.
The trip was uneventful. I was exhausted because I started a new gym program. I had gone 3 days in a row, and Friday met with Leslie and Denise for one of their classes. I was pretty beat. I could hardly walk as a matter of fact.
So, I was pretty excited when we got to the house a little after 6. We unloaded and I got straight into bed. I was looking forward to watching Dateline, but I fell asleep. It sure felt good. I don't remember ever feeling so worn out.
Sat. BK worked in the shop. A customer brought his car up from San Diego and spent the day while BK did what he does to these things. We all went into town for parts and ate outside at Sonic. Good weather. Oh, we got a bag of our favorite taffy at OSH-hardware store.
Another customer came by and BK took care of him, too. It was a busy day. I worked at my computer mostly and handled some phone calls.
Mike and Kathryn made a great dinner and we all ate together. Then we checked out for the night.
Sunday we got breakfast at Del Taco and then went shopping at Stater Bros for lunch supplies and some dinners for the upcoming week.
We got to San Marcos around 2 and unloaded it all. We wanted to enjoy the beautiful day and have a little fun. We went for a drive in San Diego and ended up at Fashion Valley Mall. We cruised around there for about an hour or so. Then we headed out to El Cajon.
We met Gail, Tim and Nick at a restaurant called Savanna Grill in Rancho San Diego. It was a neat place with great food. We had a really nice time.
Then it was time to head for the barn and start the week over again.

MLK 2011 Weekend
As I left the shop to drive home Monday morning we had a plan.
Plan A: I would come back up Thursday, go shopping and load the trailer. Then we would head out to Dumont to meet our friends for the long weekend. BK had a job starting up the following week so we better get our playday in. Once those jobs start we never know what the schedule will be.
I wasn't even an hour down the road when he called. He was to start back at the rocket factory WEDNESDAY! That's not even 2 days away!
OK, OK, we just need to regroup. We can still do this. It just means a little more driving and a little less time playing, but we can still go. We just have to go to Plan B.
Quickly BK got loose ends tied up at the shop and headed down on Tuesday evening. I had shopped for his work lunch supplies and some of the food for the trip. We transitioned back to our old schedule when he is down here working. Coffee pot set? Check. Alarm set for 4 am? Check. OK, here we go!
Wednesday work, Thursday work, Friday work, home by 3, out the door by 3:30.
I had pre-packed the food basket--aka laundry basket--and the ice chest and grabbed a handful of clothes from the San Marcos house.
We hit the road.
It was slow going. Lots of traffic on a Friday afternoon plus it's a holiday weekend. First stop--In N Out in Temecula. BK orders me a cheeseburger with pickles, spread only. Ahh, I always forget how tasty they are!
Next stop, diesel fuel.Ugh! This traffic! Slowly we make our way up the 15. Santa Ana winds blowing now, too. One last pitstop for me and a cup of coffee for the driver.
Back on the road to the Apple Valley house.
We arrived there at 7 pm. BK quickly hooked the trailer up to the truck and handled all the details involved with that. Once he pulled it around to the house to fill it with water I made a mad dash through the house to return the items we had borrowed from the trailer over the past 2 and a half months it had been sitting out back.
8 pm we're rolling out the gates. The drive the rest of the way was smooth sailing. We only stopped once for ice and a Dumont Pass.
We arrived around 10:30 pm.
First requirement. Please set the satellite dish and make sure the TV works. I don't know why that matters. I don't watch TV at home, but I want that option while camping. Especially at bedtime and first thing in the morning. Ok dear, now you can go for a ride. :)
The weekend was perfect. We started with a 9am ride. We had a few new people along with our campcrew.
Roll Call:
Buddy Wilson and the boys
Conde Clan
Duniac Paul
DOD=Doug, Olivia & Dad aka Frankenking
Ben and Gina were camped nearby
Kevin and Brian Brewer came out for the day.
We got together and went for several rides throughout the day. The weather was perfect. A light jacket was all that was needed and sometimes not even that.
Good friends, good weather, good duning = A Great Time!
